Wild Rattle when ignition on "on"

Hi,

I just put the key in my 87 Carrera after it has been sitting for 6 months. There is something broke!!!!

It is the black plastic "thing" in the luggage compartement just behind the front bumper. Looks like some sort of pump, anyway. Think that it is maybe a pump or something for the heating?

Any advice...is it expensive?

Windshield washer pump?

How about some pictures?

Good luck,

Gerry

front condenser fan? turn off the a/c switch. those fans can catch on fire. don't use the a/c until it's fixed.

yes, I was just going to post the same thing. Unplug it.

Thanks guys!

It is a fan! Opened it. Seemed ok, but too much play in its axle - worn! The ac still works after I have unplugged it!!!???

it cools the front condenser, so the system will probably overheat without it.
