How hard is installing the Pelican r134 conversion kit on a SC?

I was going to let my mechanic do the R134 conversion on my car (although he still recommends R12), but now I'm thinking about doing it myself to save some $ and learn something. I was wondering how hard it was to put in the new lines and compressor from the kit sold by our host, how detailed the instructions are, any special tools needed or anything to watch out for. I've had my AC disconnected and compressor removed for a while now. I have no AC experience but consider myself mechanically inclined.
