Are these White Fuchs painted or white from factory

Can anybody tell? I ran the option codes and they did not include anything like "body colored Fuchs" whereas I may have seen such a code on at least 1 other white 911. Also, do these look like 6's and 7's? Thanks. Marv

Appear to be 6s and 7s...impossible to tell from a picture if factory or not....but wont affect the value of the car...

Don -

Thanks. I agree they are probably the stock 6 & 7's. Do you mean it is not possible to tell if the wheels are white from the factory with a picture? Did the factory regularly make white Fuchs, or only on some Turbo's?

They were available for a short term during that period of time in body matching color....or with long hoods the wheels were painted to match the stripe on the RS. I recently painted my 17" Fuchs to match the stripe on my recent re-work....I like the look

OK so if they were available at that time-- would it show up in the option codes or would it just come that way? if it didn't come with the car, perhaps this person bought them aftermarket, or painted them. I 'm going to try to find out...

take a lug nut off and see if it is painted white on the lug nut seating surface. if it is painted, it isn't factory.

When I ordered my previous '86, there was an option for grand prix white or platinum colored wheel centers.

Yes, there was an option code for them, order code 348.
Was available with order code 395- Fuchs 16x6,7
Also available with order code 401- Fuchs 15x7,8
And available as part of order code 491- Turbo-look

BTW- in 1986 it was a $226 option

There was also an order code 485- White gold metallic wheel centers in all the same combinations as the order 348

Pretty scary that I still have the build sheet from when I'd ordered that old '86 Coupe isn't it?

Also, if the seats are painted, get the paint off.

The fronts are definitely 6's, rears are 7's or maybe 8's.

+1 for Ed (175K911)

The option code for my 88 Targa is #348 for the Fuch's. #220 was the LSD, #383/387 were the sport seats and #474 was the sport shocks. At least that's how it's listed in my record book.

My GP White `87 has the factory option #348 (body color) white wheels $258. They are painted on the inside of the barrels and the backside of the spokes. If yours are painted then they are probably factory in most people just shoot the outside (although there are some folks that will attend to that detail).
