speeding and window tint removal

I got pulled over today doing 55 in a 40, the good news is I did not get a speeding ticket only a warning, but I did get written up for the window tinting on my 996. I bought the car in Florida, so it came on the car and even though it is not permitted here in California, there are lots of cars here with tinted windows, so I kept it.

Seems it was a good thing since it gave the kind officer something to write me up for without giving me a speeding ticket, whew...so now I need to know how to get it removed, I know I can pay someone, but can this be done at home?

As if that was not enough, after the ticket I retreated to a very quiet back road and opened up the car to let out frustration, and as I come around a corner, I see cop city in front of me. It seems a Ryder truck had gone off the road and down a enbankment into a resevour. I know by the looks on the tow truck operator and the cops they heard me coming and if they we not so busy they would have been getting busy with me. So for the rest of the trip I was going the speed limit and saying "I know honey, I know" Last night I took a 2 hour drive down Hy 1 on the coast at speed solo and no issues, but today I go 55 in a 40, with the wife, and tell her I am going this route to avoid being stuck behimd slow cars...and I get the ticket...go figure....

It seems I am cursed on Christmas for tickets, a few years back I got one for a illegal left turn, both times I had my wife with me, both times I called out the crime to her before committing it, and...we both times I got a ticket. Seems like I need to either stop anouncing to my wife my plan to break the law, not take her with me, avoid driving around Christmas, or drive within the law. I think I will try door number 1 or 2 first.

Any suggestions on the tint removeal would be great....I do have a time limit on that...

Make sure you use new blades to scrape the glue off the windows
use plenty of windex...Just did it on my new beetle for the wife. Same kind of deal! They really suck around the holidays...Matt
