Another One Bites the Dust
Saw this in our local paper. Fortunately the driver walked away.

WOW! He is very lucky and looks like the car was well prepared. These cars definitely were built well....

Holy smokes!!! What happened? Looks like more than just a bad case of lift throttle oversteer! glad the driver was OK after that. Too bad about that car.

Rule #1 - Shiny Side Up. Failure to adhere to this rule and... well, you get whats pictured.
Glad the driver walked away, it be interesting to hear the story.

My bet is he rounded the corner, obscured by the dust, too fast. Unfortunately the article doesn't elaborate. I'm just glad the driver is physically ok. Though I'm sure he's hurting from the fact he will be out of his play toy for awhile if not for good.

Can't see that clearly, but it looks as if his arm is outside the window on the 1st pic. Truly lucky man.

So what causes a roll like that?
People lose control and spin all the time. I've only been to the track three times, and it seems like somebody spins every sessions. No big deal. What causes a roll instead of a typical spin? Just bad luck?

Catch a wheel in the soft dirt or the edge of the track. There are places at Willow Springs where that happens more than it should.

Car contact often gives it the extra moment. Also, soft or recessed ground right off the pavement can do it.
