911 front end jack
I was working on the front end of my car this weekend doing some rewiring and driving light work.
I have an aluminum motorcycle jack in my garage that has 1500 lbs capacity. It goes down to 4.5" and has a pair or rubber covered rails and a wide base. Looked like it would work to lift the front end. Capacity should be ok, because my care weighs 2270 total. I slid it under the front and caught the frame member just in front of the tank with the tow ring on it. It jacked up quite easily. Then I noticed and added bonus......a pin that would lock the jack and turn it into a jackstand. ![]() ![]() That very healthy pin locks the jack so the hydraulics are not what is holding it in place. I like the wide base, light weight, ease of handling and the locking feature. they cost $150 and are great if you have both motorcycles and a Porsche. I use it on my dirt bikes all the time.
