I know ! RIGHT! another 3.2 idle hunt question
When I jumper the two pins in the round relay test port and adjust idle screw I get a good steady idle pulling the jumper results in surging and hunting again..
pulling the plug on the ICV while the jumper is out makes no difference .. still surging and hunting.. I thought the jumper was to cut out the ICV from the loop? but evidently not.. Waht am I actually doing when I put the jumper in place..? |
I think the jumper is supposed to park the IAC valve in the center position.
I had hunting with an O2 sensor in a pre-muffler that didn't get hot enough at idle. Relocating the O2 to one of the pipes before the merge into the premuffler cured the issue. I also found a small vacuum line detatched from the back of the rubber snorkel ... a tiny thing without a clamp or anything. Didn't cause hunting, but roughened the idle up a bit. |
hunting can be caused by a few different issues, but is usually related to a rich condition. Do you know how to lean out your AFM?
|
could also be a bad vacuum leak(s).
