Carburettor Jet sizing

I've just swapped out my 2 litre engine for a 2.2 and I intend to use the webers carbs froom the 2 litre engine. Can anyone direct me to or tell me the standard jet and venturi sizes for the 2.2, as I will no doubt have to re-jet the carbs.

Thanks

Adam

Adam,
Weber jet sizes are largely dependent upon venturi size.
Venturi size is largely dependent upon engine size and performance.
For instance, Webers with a 27mm venturi will run 110 main jets, while Webers equipped with 30mm venturi's will run with 125 mains.
Webers with 32mm vents willl run 130 mains.
All the above listed for 2 liter engines at various performance levels.
Find out the size of the existing venturi's. 27mm venturi's will be too small for the 2.2 engine.
30mm venturi's may be fine.
It is unlikely the carbs are equipped with 32mm vents.
32mm vents would be suitable for a higher performance 2.2 liter engine.
The idle jets listed run from 45 to 55 depending upon venturi size.
Air correction jets 180 to 185.

You might want to find a parts list for those carbs. I know what the previous poster said, but I'm pretty sure 2.2 came from the factory with 27mm vents, but his jetting numbers sound right on. All the jetting is going to depend where you are, climate, elevation, and even driving habits. If you go with a 30mm vent on a 2.2, you won't be happy in low end driving. You will have to rev it higher than you do now to get the power band to start. Just remember, the larger the vent, the higher rpm when it will start pulling, the smaller the lower, but do not go under 27mm...

Great information...Thanks guys.

I shall check the current jet and vent sizes before I proceed.

ELMONTE, That's a goldmine of information.

PMO (PMO High Performance Porsche 911 Carburetors & EFI & MFI Fuel Injection Kits) is another resource. Communicating with them can be tricky, but if you fax them a list of specs (displacement, cam type, etc) and your goals for power vs driveability, they can provide recommendations and parts.
