'67 Seat Problems
Hi everyone, i've got two questions for anyone with the original seats in their car and anyone who has removed the seats from their car. First, how do you get the seats out of the car? I can get about three bolts out of the rails, but can't reach any more. I don't know if it matters as far as the seat rails and everything are concerned, but the car is a '67. I believe the seats are from a '68 911.
Second, what side are your locking mechanisms on? I'm trying to find out if somehow I have two passenger side seats and not 1 driver's side and 1 passenger side. The knob you rotate to release the locking mechanism is on the right side of both of my seats. The plate where this mechanism should be locking into is to the left of the driver's seat though. It hasn't been a problem before because the seats didn't slide anyway, but now that I've gotten around to fixing them I'd like to know if I need to get a new seat or if there is a way to get mine to work. Thanks, Andrew |

The seats are just like all 911s. Pull the lever and slid them forward.

If I remember correctly, you slide the seat all the way forward to get to several bolts, then slide it all the way back to get to the others.

I managed to get the seats off a while ago... the problem is that I have 2 passenger seats. Does anyone know how to remove the locking mechanism and switch which side it is on?

Hello
Yes it is possible to change the lever to the other side as the underpan is symetrical and the lever is mountet in the underpan. Removal is not to complicatet Dissasemble seat and pry out pin on the rear pull parts out and mount them to the other side, you will need a other returnspring . Should i explain how to dissasemble the seat ? Grüsse |
