The gauges just push in. Use something that will not mar or scratch to pry them out, take your time and work your way around the gauge. Once you get one out you can reach in and push the one beside it out.

Make sure to label wires and pictures help.

He's right and they can be stuck in there pretty good.

The best way to get the gauges out is to push from behind. You can get to the backs of the gauges from the front trunk. A solid push will get them moving. If you start with the gauge furthest left you may have an easier time removing the bigger gauges like the tach and speedo. Remove the first one with a push from behind, then use the opening in the dash to remove the second one, and repeat. To pull the tach you'll need to remove your steering wheel. The tach is big and is a tight fit when removing it so use some painters tape on the top of the powder-coated steering column to protect it.

I learned all of this first hand as I've taken my gauges out to fix the odometer and put in electroluminescent-wire lighting. My fellow Pelicans deserve a big thanks for the great threads that helped me do that project.

Good luck,

J

just pull out the clock or something easy, then push the speedo out from behind, then the tach. Find one that is loose enough to pull out with your fingers, then push the rest out, working toward the tach.

+1 on getting the clock out first

... Then coat the rubber seals with talcum powder before replacement. That way you will be able to get them out again, if needed, without a hassle.
