How can I find my Rear Sway Bar Size?

Hi all,

I've decided to change out my sway bar bushing and drop links this week. I took off my rear sway bar and I'm not sure what size bushings to order. The number on the side of the busing says "Weltmeister 027" and there are a total of 2 of these bushings on the rear sway bar. The car is a 1976 although I believe someone upgraded the sway bar because, according to the online catalog, I have the 1978-1989 drop links as well as the 1978-1989 bushing clamps. So.. how do I know which size to order? Thanks! SmileWavy

measure the diameter with a metric caliper by the bushings. the size of the bar is the size of the bushings to order.

If you don't have calipers try a few different size open end wrenches.

That's a good idea, though Harbor Freight sells calipers VERY cheaply (<$10 for digital or $4 for mechanical) and they are useful to have around...

Thanks for the input guys! I will get a caliper from the local Harbor Freight tomorrow. SmileWavy
