Torque 5 rotor bolts?
What is the torque setting for the 5 bolts hub to rotor? I have heard the rotor can warp if not properly torqued.

I found the answer on Rennlist. This is from Pete Zimmermann:
Hold the hub in place against the disc, put one bolt in and install a nut & washer. If the bolts/nuts are in good shape just replace the 5 wavy washers. If the bolts/nuts are rusty replace them also. After all five nuts are in place gently snug them in a star pattern, then torque them to 18 lb/ft. Lacquer thinner the entire disc surface where the pads contact, put on clean latex gloves and install. Pete

Thanks for posting the answer... Saved me from having to ask! Did you use any chemical thread locker? The local race shop suggested using a single drop of red loctite on each bolt because the nuts are not self locking. It may be overkill, but I will be on the track, so I figure it's not a terrible extra step.

The 79SC wheel "lug-nuts" require 90-ish foot pounds of torque. They will hold the rotor on with or without Loctite. Use the blue as it is semi-permanent not the red, if you must. Red requires heat to remove.

Be sure to install and tighten your lug nuts in as star pattern also.
If you just work your way arount the wheel that can warp the rotor also. |

do not use red loctite on brake rotors. I've seen too many nightmares when it came time to remove or replace...like people using acetylene torches to remove the bolt heads. Not pretty.
