exterior door handle trigger mechanism - oops
 

My passenger side door trigger mechanism decided to stop functioning yesterday. It turns out that the L shaped piece of poor quality metal that is used to retain the spring and push rod on the backside of the handle has snapped. A quick search in the archives tells me this has happened to more than one person before. Can these pieces be found separately or am I now in search of a new handle just to steal this piece out of?

(Anyone have one they could spare?)

Depending on the year ( 5 versions from 1969 to 1995 )

72 was the split using slight other triggers. In 74 the trigger was redesigned again.

No direct spare you only can buy a other outher door handle and swap over.

Some door handles have a broken studs or other misshaps and are not "direct" reusable.
