gasket stuck to metal

I am upgrading the chain tensioners on my 3.0L and the gasket on the left chain tensioner housing is stuck on the housing pretty good. I have a gasket scraper and tried WD-40-ing it off but it still is on there pretty good.

Any of you guys have tricks to getting old gaskets off?

I wish porsche had reusable metal gaskets. That would be nice.

scrape, scrape, scrape.......and then scrape. Finish with a scotchbrite pad.

a sharp buck knife works well for the majority of it. then a small sharp wood chisel for around the studs.
