Help! Crank Nut Access
What tool do I use to get on the crank nut. This double pulley is close to the support and there's no window in the support.

Do you want to remove the pulley?
I think it requires removing muffler, bracket and support. The bolt holding the pulley can be very tight. ![]() If you just want to turn the engine, you can do that by pinching the fan belt and using a socket on the big fan nut.

I use a long-handle 3/8” drive ratchet and socket. Put the 6-point socket on the head of the bolt first and then put the square of the wrench in the socket. Use the length socket so the handle just clears the pulley when engaged.
Only turn clockwise. Turning the other way is not appropriate for the cam drive chains and may loosen the crank pulley bolt. When turning by hand for valve adjust, it is easier with the sparkplugs out. If performing a cylinder leak test, ALWAYS remove the crankshaft wrench before applying compressed air to a cylinder. Best, Grady

I only need access to turn motor for tuning.
Grady-I ran home to try your suggestion. Problem is there's only 15 mm space between pulley and support. A socket won't fit between.

I put a wrench on the fan nut. I pinch the fan belt tight with my fingers as I turn the pulley with the wrench.

As Grady says you can use a longer socket. But you got to put the socket on the nut first, then the ratchet. Shane
