Are the struts stock or raised spindle (RSR)
You will have problems even with the spacer if you have RSR struts.... However you can grind quite a bit of the arm away to gain clearance...btdt

they are stock 79's. I will start grinding and raise the suspension up with a floor jack to check for clearence after each grinding. I just don't want to weaking the parts to the point of breaking on the road

I had the same problem on three cars I know of. Don't worry about too much grinding. All three of the cars have been track proven.

The Elephant Racing Decambered Ball Joints will get you clearance. These move the strut and rotor about .2 inches outboard, relative to the control arm.
They are available from our host.

You have to grind material away for this " upgrade " ? Not a very well thought out kit is it ? Sorry that just doesn't sound right.

Yeah, it might seem that way but the VCI parts are nicely made.
The Porsche A arm in comparison is kind of a sloppy steel stamping with extra material on the edge. Take a 1/2mm off or so and you're good to go.
