What kind of rear wheel arches is this??

Dear all,

I have recently purchased a 911 from 1974. The chassis number (and the engine) correspond to this being an ordinary 911, however the rear wheel arches seem to be wider than stock. Can you please look at below photos and shed some light?

Also the car has 16" fuchs wheels with 205/55 at the front and the 225/55 in the rear.

Cheers,
Marko from Croatia

Marco,
At first judgement it appears the arches have the later "SC" type 'flare' as opposed to the "RS" 'flare'. These may have been added at some time unless this is a true Carrera. This can be identified by VIN. No matter this is an improvement allowing wider wheels and tires for enhanced cornering. Appears to be a nice purchase!

Thanks for the prompt reply!! Is this the same as the 'wide body' as seen on the Turbo models?

I would like to buy the vinyl protectors for the rear flares and am wondering which model will fit.

Cheers,
Marko

Hi Marko! Nice car!
Flares are the non-turbo, non "wide" flare
Flares were very fashionable in the 70s!

Marko,

That looks like a great 74. Glad to see such a nice car in the hands of a fellow Croat.

Prva liga. Uzivati.
