Tips for efficient removal of non-factory undercoating?

Car was previously restored 20 years ago. So-so job, looks like many cans of auto zone-grade spray undercoating were used. I need to strip it to get a better feel for the underbody condition before I send the car out for rocker repair.

I do not have a lift, but do have jackstands and good lighting. Was thinking of using a halogen work lamp or heat gun and stiff blade putty knives.

Any other ideas? Someone suggested dry ice. I would end up burning myself and don't have a clue where I would purchase such a thing.

Thanks!

Wurth pneumatic undercoating remover, followed by a blowtorch and wire wheel. This will be the most painful job you have ever done.

Bob-
Thanks for the link. I happen to have access to a Fein Multimaster oscillating tool and I think I'll be putting it to use this weekend! SmileWavy
