Jakarta's 911 story...

Hello all...

Continued from my first post Yellow 911. Hello from Jakarta...

2 Pelican members from South East Asia meet in Jakarta and these are the pictures. Pictures taken by Enjefry. BTW, car looks better in pictures than in real life.

Yes, I will have the engine oil replaced & fan belt. Oil cooler fan is completely gone, a new one costs $1300. Unbelievable... Also my drive shaft is leaking oil too at the joint, any ideas? They said no repair kit is available, a new complete assy is also $1300. Like you said my car is mint, but the total estimate comes to $7000

A new oil cooler fan is under $500 on this website.

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 911-624-121-00

Complete axle shafts are $305 each

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 911-332-024-15-M60

Do those prices you state include installation?

Hi Bob,

Prices are for parts only. And they (Porsche dealership) won't let me use outside parts. And worse I'm no mechanic

Anyway thanks for the info. BTW, Pelican parts is awesome, I was comparing their prices and Pelican's, theirs are like 2 to 3X more expensive (Porsche int'l standard price + import duty etc.).

So, how serious is the oil leaks in the drive shaft? Can I seal the oil leaks or the whole thing has to be replaced?

There are other less expensive options to the factory fan, sold by other vendors and they fit just great. Its very easy to install . Same for the axle; its easy to do . There has to be some other sports car owners there that can refer a mechanic. This site has threads on almost all aspects of doing repairs.

Hi TRE Cup,

Thank you for your input. I have 101 Projects book & waiting for my Bentley manual to arrive. Hopefully with these books have enough information for a mechanic to work on a 911. Now I just have to find a mechanic who reads English...
