Porsche transport on west coast needed
I'm looking for a reasonable way to ship a 930 from Seattle to San Francisco (820 miles), then back again, some time around mid March. Prefer to ship enclosed. Best if it's door to door (not terminal to terminal). Will consider a commercial carrier, but would also consider going with a non-commercial carrier (i.e., a reliable individual who has the right equipment). Any suggestions? PM is okay too.

I used an auction type service to select a carrier to bring a VW to me from Illinois to PA. Closed container cost about $450. You set your own requirements. Is uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Vehicles or Moves. Amazingly fast bidders. Check it out. Make sure your bidders are DOT licensed & insured.

Independent carrier
I recently bought an '89 Carrera in Costa Mesa, CA and the dealer had it shipped up to the Gold Country near S.F. The carrier name is Enclosed Auto Express, LLC.
The owner/driver used an enclosed one car carrier and was very diligent about the care of the vehicle. He thoroughly inspected it at both ends of the trip and it came through without a scratch. I was very impressed with the driver's concern for a safe and uneventful trip. The phone number is 951 398-7261 and he's out of Chino, CA. Don't know how far he goes with his shipments though.
