Are the plastic door keepers/clips interchangable with any other car's (VW, maybe)?
I have to put a door panel back on a 74 911, and I need new plastic door clips to snap it on. I've looked on Pelican and can't find them, and have only found them at one place on the internet, period. But they want $2 a piece plus shipping. I can order them, but would prefer to have them now. Does anyone know if there are other clips out there that work? I am thinking there has to be a VW car from that era that used the same part, no? I only ask because there are a couple VW part places here in town that I can go to immediately, but only one real Porsche place. And they won't answer any questions over the phone and are just jerks in general. BTW, it's these bad boys that I talking about specifically. Thanks!

Take one down to your local AutoZone. They have a whole rack of those in most stores. Just match it up.
If no luck there, go to Home Depot or Lowe's. They have a big slection of those type of car bits in the fastener isle. Menards as well, if you have one of those.

My local NAPA has an entire rack of assorted door panel clips. I'm sure you can find one that works.

Ha! It does have the dang Audi and VW logo! And ironically, no Porsche logo. I didn't even notice. Thanks Donporfi.

And that might even be the part number molded into the top. As others have said, I would just go down to your local Napa or the like. They all have a pile of different types of these clips.

Bumping a year old thread...
Anyone know how to install these? I'm making new door panels for my 1970 restoration. They were originally 1/4 inch luan plywood, and my re-creations are as well. The dealer said 'sure those door panel clips are available'. Then I got those pictured at the top of this thread. The originals (or I presume the originals) had a narrower but deeper head and neck, pushing through from the outside and then held with a screw from the inside through the neck. I guess these new clips sort of screw in, angling the cut-out in the base through the hole in the panel. But it seems like there's no way this will work through original-sized holes. The material's both too thick and the hole too small to get these even started. My next step is to drill it out a bit and use a big bit around the hole to thin it. But I'd sure like to know how large and how thick a hole these are meant to go through. Thanks, Mike
