Where is fuse for 1985 911 radio?

Just bought an '85 Widebody Targa and the radio has been upgraded, but not getting any juice. I'm assuming a blown fuse. I cannot locate where it would be? Can anyone give me some insight...I feel stupid but I looked in the front bonnet area and didn't see anything in the fuse box for the radio...Thanks!!! Dan

Dan

There is usually a fuse right in the back of the headunit itself. Also, you could have another fuse from the red 'hot' wire as well.

Beautiful car, BTW!!!

Can't find reference for the radio fuse for my 81 either. Looked at the inside of the black plastic cover.

You are tied into one of those fuses unless you have a main feed right off the battery. Assuming all of those fuses are good - and that would mean to test continuity, look under your dash and see if you have an in-line fuse for the radio. I believe some radios can also have a fuse port in the radio with a cap you have to remove. I'll bet one of those are blown.

I also need 2 of the black plastic jack hole plugs for a widebody if anybody has 2 extra (not sure if they're different from a standard narrow body). Thanks for the compliment Magnumpi...unbelievably the guy I bought it off of spent a whopping $17,000 to have the body work and paint done. Everything rubber was replaced and it is a beautiful job, but DAMN...that's a BIT high and not justifiable in the real world. He was a pretty wealthy guy, so I guess money was no object. He just wanted the car done right, and I smile when I look at it and DRIVE it, so I guess it worked! Cheers!
