Carb conversions - any articles?
I've been Googling away, but coming up empty. Are there any articles or posts that discuss a carburetor conversion from CIS? What parts are needed, how to do it, etc? I have a 3.0L and thinking of converting to carbs.

You need a complete carburetor kit that contains everything for the conversion. Its very easy IF you have all the right components and tools at hand.
PMO assembles a kit that has custom jetted carbs, the correct manifolds, insulator kit, linkage, air cleaners, breather plumbing, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filters, etc. Get the distributor rebuilt & recurved and you'll be totally amazed at the difference,...

I've been reading through dozens of pages of search results. Found plenty of great info and opinions on the change...but I'm not finding what I need, an exact list of parts needed for a conversion and how to put it all together.

I have two 3.0's running carbs. My SC has 46mm PMO's that I purchased new. Recurved distributor by Barry Hershon. Runs like a top. After sitting for 2-3 weeks I pump the throttle a few times and she fires right up. I have to feather the throttle for 15 - 20 seconds and she settles right in. Driveability and response are fantastic. I can get 17 - 17.5 mpg on the highway. Total cost around $4000.00 when you add everything up. The 3.0 in my 914 has Weber 40's. Once warmed up she runs quite well but very cold blooded compared to the PMO's and I live in Florida
. Everything about the Webers is not as good as the PMO's. For this car I had Jerry Woods recurve the distributor. The difference is night and day between the two cars the PMO's are that good.
