The GT3 R Hybrid will be racing at the Petit Le Mans on October 2nd at Road Atlanta. I'm planning to make the trip over to see it - any others?

Petit is always a great venue. The Porscheplatz is in a great location. Maybe it won't rain...

If there's enough interest, I'll plan for a caravan from Atlanta out to the track. I'm pretty sure a group of 356 guys I have driven with in the past will be making the trip out.

Wish I could be there. I understand the car & the new Panoz wouldn't be classed. Still should be awesome.

When they have a "Le Mans" race series in the US, is it acceptable to not pronounce the word, "Le Mans" as it's used in France and throughout the rest of the world? (about 26 seconds into the first video).
Strange since the event is a seminal race known the world over. PORSCHE 911 GT3 R HYBRID TO MAKE NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT AT PETIT LE MANS! Sherwood |

NO! Maybe it was pronounced that way to lure in the Walmart/NASCAR set who wouldn't know the difference. At least Porsche wasn't pronounced porch!

Wow, that's a Porsche commercial, too.

I'm heading over Saturday morning. For those of you driving up from Atlanta who want to caravan up, I can meet at Discovery Mills that morning (or in Alpharetta a bit earlier that morning).
Any takers? Best, John |

I'm staying at a Hyatt on the north end of the airport, so I need to drive that way. Except, I'll be in a rental car....not sure if that qualifies as a caravan vehicle?
I could use local knowledge....looks like both 985 and 85 get you to the track, is one preferred?

Ed - you are a looooong way from the track if you are staying near the airport. Drive safe.
I think I heard the caravan might be leaving from Discover Mills Mall - in that case you will want to go 85. I would join you guys but I will be heading up Friday night and camping out. -Farrell

I know, but I don't land until Midnight...didn't want to drive out then. I figure traffic should be light at 6:30 in the morning!

Sure - rental cars welcome!
That will be a bit of a hike from the airport but, like you mentioned, traffic should be light at 6:30. I always take 85 out there. Quote:
