1988 Carrera trailing arms/1988 930 trailing arms

Thanks to all the pelicans out there for your help and support.

I have done a search on this subject, but have come up empty.
I am doing a brake upgrade on my Carrera to 930 turbo brakes, I have everything I need, but also have a good set of 1988 930 trailing arms.

My question is this, are these trailing arms a direct bolt on , or do I have to change the pickup points?

I read in the book"Original Porsche 911" page 87 that with the introduction of the G50 gearbox in 1987, the cast iron support for the semi-trailing arms used the turbo's geometry.
Is this correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. SmileWavy

930 trailing arms are VERY different from Carrera ones and unless you have a wide-body car, they will not fit since it leaves the wheels well outside the stock Carrera fenders.

Further, you would need either a 930 torsion bar tube or a pair of weld-in camber boxes to properly position the trailing arms.

IMHO, the correct way to install 930 calipers on the rear is to have them modified to fit your Carrera trailing arms.

Thanks steve for the quick response.

The car does have the 930 front and rear fenders, sorry I did not mention them in the question at first.
I was trying to save from modifying the calipers unless I had to.

I am guessing I would get the 930 torsion bar tube from a automotive salvage yard, and not sure where I would get the weld-in camber boxes.

Thanks again

Ahhhhh,..key information,.....:) :)

That makes ALL the difference in the world. All you need is a 930 torsion bar tube as those already have the correctly positioned brackets for your 930 trailing arms.

No additional weld-in boxes required.
