New Group: Southern New England Pelicans
I just started a new group for people in our area who'd like to connect in person--drives, beer nights, etc. More participants = more fun!

Sounds good; you're about 90 minutes from here. I assume you mean after the 8" of snow that is supposed to fall here tonight melts?

Phil
We have a large group from southeastern Ma., SEMBC (southeastern Ma. Breakfast Club". Which is actually not a club but a band of misfits that like to DRIVE our cars. We have at least one event - drive, a month (in season). Great group, my email list is about 80 guys. Drives are posted here on atten:East Coast RGruppe, S Registry etc. events , check it out pics and banter. You are more than welcome to join the fun and if you are planning an event let me know and I will get the word out. Several of our runs last year had 35 cars. Check out the thread - we have some good fun with it. regards, Paul

Count me in. To get to your neck of the woods I get to drive on some nice twisites through Eastern CT. When is the first run? Can you tell I am itching for a run. I had the car out yesterday, but now there is snow on the ground, again.

I'm in when my schedule permits. I've been on a couple runs with the misfits and found I pretty much fit right in. These are guys who like to drive their cars and the twistier the roads the better. How we manage to not get pulled over by the local law is a mystery to me. Many new projects over the winter for me so I'm itching to get out and drive. Yes damn winter storm watch tonight, just when everything was melting nicely.

Paul never admitted to breaking the law, we are all law abiding p car drivers. New rear wheel bearings and found out needed to replace drivers side rear and front hubs, new ball joints, tire rub kit.. Still couldn't get the bearing up front right, I was told the spindle was worn, so new strut assembly should be delivered tomorrow. Front valence and rockers out for new stone guard and new chin spoiler waiting to go on. Not to mention a pile of other tasks completed. Nice to have a heated garage. Picked out a new set of Bridgestones but haven't purchased yet. Considering pre muffler and matching chip along with front (in the luggage compartment) strut brace. Hopefully all will be ready for April to the alignment shop again. Hopefully I'll be able to make most of the "rides" this year. Won't forget the sun block for Limerock this year.

OBTW the wheels look great. Do we ever stop working on these things. I guess its worth it to see all the spectators taking pictures of our pride and joy when we arrive "somewhere".

Well, I joined up. Can't wait for the first run of the season.
Janz, you are right about it being nice to see people's reactions to seeing a line 911s coming down the street or around the turn. Last year I "organized" a run from Farmington CT to Limerock Raceway for Hemmington's Sports & Exotic Car, car show, featuring Porsche's. I think we had maybe 8 cars in our group with me in front. I remember vividly coming around the bend and there was a man and a woman walking along the side of the road. As soon as we came around the bend, the woman stopped in her tracks and her jaw dropped. There was another time I met up with a group to do a run through the White Mountains in NH. I think there was maybe 15 or so of us. A mix of 928s, Boxsters, 911s. I was in the middle of the pack when we came around a bend and people were giving us thumbs up. When we stopped at a local gas station, a kid practically fell out the window trying to take a picture of our group.

I am looking for another 911. Anyone know of a 3.2 G50 coupe for sale in our neck of the woods?

With Spring being here, are there any runs planned yet?
I signed onto the group in the "social clubs" section. I am just not too sure where to see updates/news of any get togethers.

SC Phil, if you haven't already been convinced, the SEMBC is a good gang to run with. Low key, fun and informal. I should say that I have not been involved in the seedier aspects of their hijinks, only the law abiding activities, and only then by luck!
