Quality of aftermarket 911 Convertible tops?
Hi,
I'm considering buying a new aftermarket convertible top to my 1986 911 Carrera Convertible. I've seen them on Ebay and other places for $350-550. For me, living in Europe, it seems crazy cheap and I can't understand how someone can manufacture the complete top for that money AND make a profit. I'm just worried that the fit and quality of the canvas is what makes them cheap. I want a nice top, that looks factory, but I don't want to pay the $2000 + the factory top costs over here. So can someone please recommend a seller, or maybe tell me which one NOT to buy? ![]() The Ebay feedback on the seller with the $350 top seems really good, and all the porsche top buyers seem to be very happy with it. Any thoughts? Thanks, Johan

I'd stay away from eBay.
Two tried and true companies with good reputations are World Upholstery & Trim, U.S.A. Manufacturer of Auto Uphosltery, Carpet, Convertible Tops, Car Seats, Headliners & Door Panel Parts for Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Fiat, Ferrari and Alfa. 800-222-9577 and Autos International Inc. - Award Winning Interiors and Tops for Porsches. Both sell products at far less than the price in your post. HTH.
