My Rear Seat Delete

I've always wanted a rear seat delete for my '69, but was waiting for when I could get around to making one. A while back Soteric posted a link for a seat delete he was marketing, and it looked really good. I actually missed Eric's post but Byron got his email address for me. I contacted him via email and told him I wanted one. It arrived yesterday and I'm really happy with it. The price was very good, the quality is outstanding, and Eric (the guy marketing them) was a really great guy. I'm really glad I went that route. Not only did I get a rear seat delete of great quality, it saved me the time and trouble of making a template, getting the materials and hardware, and constructing it. The one I bought from Eric was no doubt made of better materials than I would have ended up using, and I'm decently particular. Here are the pics. What a great option.

They look fabulous - I was really tempted too, but the cost of shipping to Australia is just too much. And I suspect asking for a paper template is a bit of a risk/trust exercise that I won't go making them commercially.

Please post when you've upholstered and fitted it.

John, you might contact him & ask about shipping to the bottom half. It cost $48 to ship from Seattle, WA to the San Diego, CA area. He might sent or sell you a template. If you want his email address, PM me.

I know the guy making these and have seen them in person. They are almost too pretty to cover with carpet. You just can't go wrong with his craftsmanship.

Joe Bob,
His email address is: elinden at earthlink dot net. When I emailed him, I didn't hear from him for a few days. The last time he emailed me telling me it was on its way, he said he was in New York on business. Just email him & wait for an answer.

That looks rather nice. Is there a lip on the front edge where it meets the top? It's a bit difficult to see in your pics.

Yes, there is a lip. He used an original as a template for these, only the construction & materials are much better.

Got any installed pics? I have a cab as well as a roll bar that ties into the wheel wells above the seat bottoms.

Subscribed.

Would love to see installed pics, and any other photos from folks who've done the rear seat delete.

Sorry, you won't see any installed pics soon - at least from me. First, I just got it the end of the week. Second, I still have to put the rest of the car together and the interior parts will be toward the end. I will be covering the front part with the same material the seats, door panels, etc. are made of, and the top will be covered with the carpet (coffee colored loop) material I made the carpet set out of. He might have some pics though.
