Car Sprayed - Is colour correct?

Hello,

I just had my car resprayed the original colour of Burgundy (6808). To my eye it looks way too brown, but I have not seen this colour in person, so I could be mistaken. The shop says the colour is correct according to their database.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

It's always hard to judge by photos, but your car does look too brown. Here's what I would've expected from a respray in the original color (not my car):

Most/Least Common Color 911?

The color is really pretty close, Remember it is a non metallic of the 70 vintage and I had a 70S that color.

Color looks ok. The burgundy porsche used (6808 or 2424) has more brown to it than one would expect from burgundy. I had mine re-sprayed last year and it looks exactly as yours. So don't worry, your good.

Looks a little browner than I would expect, but I'm really surprised the shop didn't have you inspect and approve the color before doing the whole respray. Normally, a painter paints a small panel first and gets your approval before doing the whole car.

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies. I had expected a much redder colour, so I was surprised with the results. Anyway, after a few days of getting used to it, it seems a lot better. It may be browner than it should, but I think it is a close call.

I do not know Earl Scheib, why do you ask this?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Here is a picture of my car that is original paint burgandy 2424. It does contain a lot of brown. It is really impossible to tell from pictures I know. Do you know brand of paint they used ? was it a single stage paint ? That hood shot looks pretty close to me.

That's not the correct color, Jim. It's not a metallic paint.
