rear window rubber problem

1988 3.2 coupe. Inserted in the rear window rubber of my car is a black plastic trim which I noticed was not fitted properly into the corners. Anyway to cut along story short, I tried pulling the trim out to refit it snugly back into its correct place, but after several attempts(and plenty of washing up liquid) I still can not get it to fit into the corners. Does anyone know of an easier method to fit it or are there any tools out there that would help? Or do I need to contact a window specialist?

I do not believe it is possible to install the window trim with the window installed in the car. You'll need to pull the window, then go through the usual steps when installing a new front or rear window. You or a windshield installer can do this quite easily. Anyone correct me out there if I'm wrong. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/kao14.gif

When you do it, mold the aluminum trim around the glass edge (when out and minus the rubber). This way, the aluminum will look and fit very well.

Quite an easy job, after the right tools (1/4"- 3/8" NYLON rope, and ivory soap/water).
