are these 5.5 j rims
Hi all
Can someone take a quick look at this car and tell me if those wheels are 5 and half by 15's. Is there a 5.5 deep and none deep dish fuch? If anyone knows of a link which explains which sizes were on which cars it would be much appreciated Cheers Alan |

Arr
It's seems that they are "deep dish" 6 by 15 and not 5.5. I thought they were stopped being used in 71. Oh well the search goes on for a set which doesn't require another visit to the bank manager. He's getting a bit used to seeing me at the moment. Alan 68 Karmann Ghia 67 911 powered 69 912 |

Those look like 5.5 x 15 Fuchs. The set of 5.5 x 15s that used to be on my car look very much like those.

Alan,
Except through dealer parts department purchases, all '67 models got 4.5" x 15 Fuchs, all '68 models got 5.5" x 15 Fuchs, and '69 thru March '71 models got 6 x 15 Fuchs of the 'deep' variety ... except for 'comfort group' option with 5.5" x 14 Fuchs and 185HR-14 tires of the '82' profile. So, late '71 and later models got 'non-deep' 6 x 15's.

Fuchs
Warren,
We assume you mean "when Fuchs were fitted", as the 67 and 68 "base" 911 and 912's were fitted with steel wheels stock, Fuchs being optional, same with base models (T's) for 69 and forward.....E's as well I think. Note that as early as 1968, 6 x 15 Fuchs, and 7 x 15 Fuchs were available through the racing dept., or by special order, if you knew what to ask for. regards, Eric 67S 69S 71E 56 Speedster with discs 59 Coupe with Rudges |

Eric, thanks for all your help clarifying the early 911 sport seat and wheel questions. You and Schmidt are the most knowledgable people I know regarding this stuff - your input is much appreciated. Best regards...........
