Seat disassembly questions
I've bit the bullet and am replacing my seat covers on my own. I have the passenger's seat out now and was able to separate the top and bottom very easily. I'm having a problem with two accessories--and don't want to break either.
First, how do I remove the lever and bezel for the seat recline? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1281832451.jpg Second, how do I disconnect / remove the power seat switches? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1281832480.jpg Thanks, David |

David, On our '86, the plastic seat back lever pulls out, and the bezel slides off. The metal lever attachment will remain. On the switches, there are several Phillips Head screws that hold the switch assy to the seat. Once those are out, you will have access to the connector which goes to the harness. Good luck, Gerry |
Been there, done that.........
Having done a seat recover job myself, one thing that comes to mind is to use a strip of torn t-shirt to "strap down" the upper seat bolseters while pulling the new cover into place. Once the cover is on, cut or untie the strap to let the foam spring back into place. Failing to do this could result in damaging the new seat cover. Good luck with your project.
