Throttle resistance

When I press my accelerator pedal down, I can hear a squeaking sound coming from the access hole near the back seat. I removed the panel and it is definitely coming from the tunnel area just out of sight from the access hole toward the front of the car. I can also feel the resistance in my pedal.

According to the diagrams, this part of the linkage looks like a long continuous rod with a few bushings. My plan was to remove and inspect it. Any words of wisdom before I do the exploratory surgery?

Thanks

Your car year would be very helpful.
Check the throttle bell crank too - it has bushings that could need attention too.

And we need a picture of the car! :-)

Welcome to the club.
