I did not mess with the disributor. Took every thing else apart. It's a little bigger than a inch.

I guess if John Walker has no idea, maybe not a Porshe part.

Almost positive it's not part of the steering system...

Don't know about the alternator.

Looks like a fuse terminal end to me...
