				Dashboard burn smell/wiper motor?

Greetings: Did some nice runs at night, all went well. Then driving home (driving 50mph ) I avoided a raccon in the middle of the road. I hit me wipers by mistake. After driving another 15-20 min. a burning smell in the front thru the vents was getting stronger and stronger. I pulled over to chk engine;front fuses;etc.etc. nothing. I made it home. Did have my fire extinguisher in car. After doing searching on the forums, I pulled out my gauges. I saw no burnt wires behind them and none under the dashbord. chked the fuse box nothing;chked the battery nothing.. Can a fellow pelican tell me how to take out the wiper motor. I think this is my problem. thxs 82SC-Targa Walt Last edited by wjfk32; 09-04-2010 at 09:59 PM.. | ||

If you have the fan booster motor in the engine compartment for your heater/defroster, then this is most likely your source of the smoke. They fail quite frequently. My solution was to disconnect the fan. -Andy
