935 pedal assembly

I have a 935 pedal assembly, will it work in standard 911 / transmission such as a 2.2 with a 901/2 transmission without too much hassle..I know the pedal area will need modification , will the transmission have to be inverted to work, or will it work in the normal fashion? thanks,S hammer

You will have to run custom made cables for the throttle and clutch. The clutch cable is connected to the left side link on the clutch pedal.
The gas pedal has a upper pivot mount that places the throttle cable outside the tunnel as well.
I hope my description will be adequate:
new clutch cable the runs from the pedal assy on the floor board, then into a fabricated tube support that goes thru the firewall on the passenger side of the tunnel behind the seats. Yeah... some tricky routing , cutting of the existing metal on that section is in order. The new tube will stick out of the firewall in a position that allows the early clutch bowden tube to be utilized. This way the dimension from the tunnel firewall to the clutch release arm is identical to oem.
Inside the car, the new cable should be sleeved with a teflon lined cover that goes all the way to the pedal assy area. It should be strongly secured and the only movement you want when you depress the clutch pedal, is for the bowden tube out back to flex and take up the slack as the cable is pulled forward.
935's used a fiberglass cover with a channel in it for the clutch cable clearance.

Throttle cable; this is much easier. Again a custom length sleeved cable that will be exposed on top of the tunnel than goes thru the tunnel fire wall , via the shift coupler opening behind the seats. . There it can be long enough to go directly to the carb/ mfi bell crank on the motor. OR you can connect to the bell crank on the trans. Either way will require proper support and fastening of the cable housing to the body. Up front, the cable has to be elevated where it connects to the gas pedal

Why did Porsche go thru all this weird custom stuff on the 935 ? IF you have ever been in an endurance race, stuff breaks. You want to have fast access to these items.

935 pedal assembly

TRE, thank you for the details.Nice to know that the transmission does not have to be relocated etc. to work. Re- cable , I had a hunch that would be necessary.Sourcing all of the cables and anchors hopefully will not be too much to accomplish.Thank you again for this information...S hammer

You will need to supply cable diameter, type of end fitting desired, sheath type and length, cable length for each type

Why not get a standard pedal assembly for relative cheap, and leave that on the coffee table? Or send it to me?

If that is a real 935 peddle assembly there are 935 guys like myself and others who would love to have it .... why not use something else that is an easier/better fit for your car and let that go into an original 935?

What are you going to do about the dual master cylinders and brake line plumbing?

I think you should send it to Dave in exchange for a rebuilt pedal cluster and some new stock cables.
