Another AC Question easy one though
I've done a search and perhaps my phrase was too long, but came up with LOADS of threads. None of them seem to address what I'm in need of.
I am looking for the 'hose' which carries the cold air from the AC EVAP box to the passenger cabin. I called our host today and they didn't show this hose also. SO, does anyone have a part number, link, name, any info so that I can get this part on order. This is the last step in my efforts to get more CFM into the car. Once I have the holes fixed I hope to post a HOW-TO thread for the EVAP squirrel cage fan upgrade. Thanks much! |
I had the local ac man source a generic plastic kind. Sold it to me per meter length. They seem to have it by the rolls. It was oversized so a foam layer filler was used to make a good fit to the smallish porsche ducting that is welded in the bulk head. Way cheaper than getting Porsche ori. Sorry but I didn't answer ur question.

Many sizes, lengths, etc. depending on the model and year of your car.

Look on-line for someone who does aftermarket A/C, like Nostalgic Air Parts. They sell 3 inch flexible duct by the foot.

The part appears to have been discontinued. Find a used one, or go with the other posts. Good luck, Gerry |

Three options/ideas for you: (1) Aircraft Spruce SCAT Tubing. Just measured my spare evap box and the outlet is 3" OD with some stretch (closer to 3-1/8" if duct hose with not stretch a little) SCAT AIRCRAFT DUCTING from Aircraft Spruce http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282486457.jpg (2) PVC coupler from Home Depot: $3.50 Neoprene Rubber PVC coupler with stainless compression clamp......discard the stiff compression clamp and reuse the orig hose clamps. The fit is a little tight, only about 1/4" overlap on each end, just enough to secure to the box and vent outlets with little excess. Part number is 3 No Hub Coupling U95-003 Jones Stephens Co. $3.94 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282485811.jpg Installed http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282485838.jpg (3) Silicon tubing http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282486088.jpg Silicon turbo hose shown in use here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282486326.jpg |

The Porsche part number for the evaporator to cabin flex hose is called "air distribution tube" part number: 91157124001, the hose should cost no more than $9.00 also get two new clamps and a right angle hose tool. Don't fart around with aftermarket parts
