Engine Lid - Hinge Removal?

Hi Everyone, I am trying to remove one of the engine lid hinges - not from the lid itself but from the body. The pivot bolt for the hinge has a round head, and I cannot hold it strong enough to remove the bolt. How does this thing come off? Anyone have some tips?

I'm pretty sure it's NOT a bolt. It's just a pin. There should be a cotter pin on the other side, and it'll just pull out. It may take some force to do, since there is still probably some pressure in the shock.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't mean where the "shock" mounts to the hinge, but rather where the hinge mounts to the body which is some sort of bolt (has a 13mm nut on it):

It's been a while since I've had mine off, but it's a bolt with a shoulder that engages a squared off hole in the hinge. You should be able to remove the nut without holding the round flat head, and just tap the bolt out. Make sure you disconnect the shock first, if you haven't already.

Try going to Sears and getting their "Bolt Out" sockets. They have biting teeth and really work well on rounded off bolt heads. I wish they had them 30 years ago.
