motul gear oil works pretty good in my 915!

Since I've owned my 85 it has used m1 gear oil (synthetic) 75-90. It was in the 915 when I got it and shifted ok so I didn't bother to change oil type... after reading all the praise and opinions and drinking the B.A .cool-aid, I decided try swepco.(201) cold shifting was slightly worse. however, when hot, shifting was worse than with the m1, much more resistance in 1st - 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I lived with it for a few months, got fed up and decided its time for a change. after lots of reading and more opinions on oil than you could shake a stick at, I chose to try motylgear 75-90 (synth blend) api gl4 & gl5 spec. petroleum base with "synth pkg" from what I have gathered. I dumped out the "inferior" (imo) blue stuff and filled er' up. I can tell you the car has never shifted as good! Still has the 915 personality, (no oil will change that) but shifts are a lot smoother and easier, especially 1-2 & 3-4
I guess technology does march on and actually improve on the impossible?

Send me a PM about it! I like the fact that they use Grapeseed Oil in some of their products. That oil has saved me when I have made mistakes

I'd like to know which shop too, first one that came to mind when you mentioned Motul was Driver's Edge.

Whatever you use....just make sure the lube is GL-5 rated.
