Question Can't turn off high beams

before i tear into my steering column and see what's going on, I figured I'd get on here and share what's going on. In my 911sc, when I pull the high beam lever towards me they are suppose to go off, but they don't. I have to drive holding the lever slightly towards me to keep them off. They also stay off when I'm signaling. I'm thinking something must be loose or worn. Any suggestions I'm sure would be helpful.

P.S. meanwhile I'll be checking back posts to figure out a good place to send my speedo, since the odometer just ceased. Thank you all who reply.

I just went through this. Getting to the switch is easier than I thought. I've added a picture - just remove the 2 screws by the red arrows, then remove the 4 screws by the green/grey arrows.

...and the other two below the green arrows on top (the left-hand one is visible in that pic.)

EDIT: I did this for the first time myself recently so my level of expertise ain't high but Walter, on mine that brown/white wire was routed behind the assembly to avoid (I assume) rubbing against the steering wheel.

Just replace the switch..8 screw's and a couple plugs you're there (after you remove the steering wheel). However I am having problems with my turn signals right now, but changing the switch is pretty easy. Have fun :O)

MrScott - you are right, I pointed to the wrong 2 screws on the top. I'm pointing to the horn contact rather than the 2 screws holding the top plastic cover. Still, the job is easy - especially if you know what to do ahead of time, rather than trying to figure out what is holding everything together once you get in there. Thanks for catching my error.
