Where to Center/Balance Tires & get an Alignment in Southeast PA?
Hey All,
My buddy Doug has been doing most of the maintenance work on my '87 Carrera for the past few years. It was recently up for inspection so I dropped it off over at Doug's place for service. He came back to me and said I need new rear tires for inspection, but he said he wasn't comfortable centering/balancing the tires on my rims because he was afraid of damaging them. Doug's the service manager at a local VW dealership, and he said that even with the equipment there, he still isn't comfortable doing the job. He advised me to take the car to someone who works specifically on Porsches. I didn't think my rims were anything terribly special. I believe they're knock-off 993 style rims which accommodate 215 mm tires up front and 255 mm tires in the rear. Here's a pic: ![]() Do any of you have a recommendation on where I could to get new tires centered/balanced on these rims, as well as have an alignment done? I live in Norristown, PA, which is about 25 miles north of Philly. Thanks!

Thank you for the recommendation of Mark's shop. I gave him a call, and he sounds like a very nice, reasonable guy with a decent hourly rate. Can't beat it! Thank you!
