My 1984 Factory T.L. Coupe in paint to sample Silver with Can Can Red/Black Leather interior.
A work in progress, she's going back to stock, I prefer sans Whale Tail but I want an oversize condenser in back and I can use the room.....Florida don't cha know.

'85 M491 Targa

1 of 65 that made it stateside in 1985. This pic is about a week after I bought her. Looked all over for 18 months, found it 56 miles from home.

I'm curious if anyone else has taken action to compensate for the 110 pounds added with the M491 option. I'm almost there by removing the entire AC system, lighter exhaust, and no back seats. Also planning to remove the heater blower and get a lighter battery.

Engine has about 175 miles on a fresh rebuild.

Who built it? Someone in CT?

I'm interested to discuss details we're local, I welcome a PM

I replaced my seats with Sparco's, removed the rear seats for a package tray (but added a roll bar) and made a carbon fiber rear bumper. I have R134 A/C.

This is from last year, I know it looks near perfect but I kept going with the alignment and that deviated the corner balance slightly. I don't remember what it weighed stock, but I recall closer to 2900#.

I also have minor engine mods (MAF plus SSI/M&K and a little more aggressive timing/fuel map). Not a rocket, but plenty of fun to row thru or skip some gears! I almost always start in second gear to avoid the 1-2 gear change.

That pic above is exactly why I prefer driving my gutted 73 with a 3.2.

My'84 has lost about 350#, kinda delete most everything, although I still have manual sport seats, steel fenders, front bumper (next to go), and trunk lid. It's right at 2,400# (calculated from initial corner weighting) with 5 gallons of gas.

My 87 M491 on a recent cold gray Seattle day. But any day without rain is a good day for a long drive!
