Is that market for original Fuchs dropping?

Hi,

I'm wondering... has the influx better production 16" Fuchs and the new 17" Fuch-like wheels hurt that value of OEM Fuch wheels? That's my hunch.

I've had a nice set of (2) 16x8 (944 offset) and (2) 16x9 (911 offset) for a while now and I've had no offers close to my asking price of $3,000.

I also tried eBay and they were only bid up to ~$1,500. I know that the buyer/market sets the price, but is that really all they are worth now?

I think a fair # of folks are jus trying to hang on to what they have in this economic climate, nevermind buy new-used wheels for it.

My hunch is that it's tougher to get a decent set of tires for 16x9 wheels and the flow of "Free" home equity money has hurt the 911 market a lot. Based on what I know of the market, as a newby with only owning my SC for 10 years, I would say $1,500-1,800 is fair in these dire times.

im thinking that you can get some NEW ones for not much more than the price you are asking for yours since they are producing them again. If you look at the history on these forums, and on ebay, the average is around $1400

Your 944 offset Fuchs are not that valuable.

3k is too much.

I think Porsche is not selling 951 8x 16 New Fuchs wheels.
The only ones i found they are selling in 16 inch
7 x 16 at Euros 569.17 aprox $726.26
8 x 16 10.6 E.T. 911 part number at Euros 822.00 aprox $1,048.87
9x16 at Euros 872.00 aprox $1,112.67
A complete set would be over $4,000.00 but these would be new and no 8x16 951 wheels. Also I do not know if there is an overcharge if you buy those wheels at a US Porsche Dealer, the prices are in Euro and excluding VAT.
I think your price is high for used wheels, even if those are 951s.

2k was normal when times were good (home equity) and the aftermarket wasn't full of options. $1500 on Ebay is probably close to what the current market price. This forum hasn't helped either, as there are many images and cases of tired / cracked original fuchs going around. With people beating these around the track with sticky tires for decades, there is a lot of risk in buying a used set.
