First gear
1st gear wants to jump out when I start to shift. It just started the last week or so. I replaced the shift linkage about 500 hundred miles ago for rough shifting between 3rd and 4th and everything worked fine until now. Any ideas where to start looking?

be sure that the handle isn't hitting the side of the tower before 1st is totally engaged. if you find some little teeth on the drainplug magnet, they're from the engagement tooth ring (dog teeth) that holds the syncro and engages with the shift sleeve teeth to drive the gear. more can break off and then you can't get into gear at all and syncro parts can go through the other gears, so best not to drive it until it's fixed, if you find teeth.
