I Got a New Stereo and Steering Wheel Bits!

Just a little showing off......it's amazing how a few changes can really transform the feel of the car. You may not be able to able see it, but I also installed a 1" spacer to help with the legroom. My knees can almost touch underneath the wheel now! Sweet! The stereo is a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794. I wanted a rear USB so I could feed it through the glove box, and I wanted a pretty basic black without too much flash. I think it does a pretty decent job of blending in.

Nice!

I was looking at the same stereo for my car - how do you like it? Are you able to adjust the backlight color to match the rest of the dash?

Well, I've literally had it installed for about 6 hours, but I do like the way it looks. It's very simplistic, not too many buttons to look at. I was worried about the lack of dedicated pre-set station buttons, but I can use the remote on the rare occasions that I use the radio. As far as the background color, no. This only changes from positive to negative view. If you want to change the color, you need the KDC-X994.

kenwood makes some really nice units. i have a x993 in one of my cars and i absolutely love it.

i recently changed my hu in the 911 as well. i was running active with my beloved jvc kd-sh1000 but being silver it just looked out of place.

i just finished installing a pioneer deh-p800prs and it looks a lot better being all black. the color can be changed from blue to white, and the white looks like it will be a great match for my new el-wire gauge light upgrade that is on the plate for this weekend. (i am not sold on the flash on my new iphone. kinda looks washed out but it was taken at night)

mmmm copper chassis
