911 pulls right under hard acceleration
With a Porsche 911.....what would cause it to steer to the right under hard acceleration?
I know front wheel drive cars experience torque steer, but a rear engined 911? Any ideas on this one? Thx in advance.

corner balance is most likely off. the right front is "light" . Ideally you want scales to get it right. A difference as low as 35 lbs side to side can cause this.
the left rear has to be raised slightly, roll the car to settle, then weigh again

I had the same problem. My car would pull right under hard accel and dart left when letting off. It turned out to be a simple wheel alignment issue.

well, yes that is a very good consideration as well
here is the order of checking it out 1) alignment 2) tires- swap side to side and drive it. As you don't have an alignment guage in your back pocket, you can do this step first 3) check corner balance best to disconnect one side's of front and rear sway bar drop links first. if there is pre load there, that will also affect it

Good to see you today. Kermie looks great! Smokey was happy to see him. On an unrelated topic, you need to address your wobbly steering wheel as well. Try this thread for what to do: HELP! Steering wheel bushing quickfix??? - Pelican Parts Technical BBS Mitch Leland has introduced an after market part forhte bushing. You may need to find a short fat spring if that is missing as well. Early Steering Bushing - Now Available If you are missing the spring, the part number is 914-347-713-00.

Had the same problem going to the left. Turned out to be a loose rear right wheel bearing.

Tires, tire pressure, or corner balance and alignment probably, but it could be the rubber bushings in the springplates and trailing arm mounts are worn out, compressed and have cold flowed to the point they have changed shape and the rear suspension toe in and may be changing under different loads.

Had the same problem in my 964 C2. (Actually, it pulled left under accel.) Turns out the LR tire pressure was down by 10lbs, due to a slow leak. Pumped up tire and, wallah, problem solved.
