Best places to find a cutom engine wiring harness
Well, I finally removed the CIS unit from my '79 3.0 engine this morning. As I removed it I realized that not only is my original harness ancient and in need of repair, it also has a lot of unnecessary wires that are no longer needed.
So it becomes clear I will need a simple loom with the stock alternator hook up, the tach wire, the oil pressure and temperature, and whatever other useful sensors I can retain from the 3.0 engine. The question I have is where would be a good place to look for a new engine harness and what should be included in the loom? I figured I could probably use an older 911 harness, but I know my tach wire hookup is an unusually shaped plug that goes into the side of the distributor. Plus there are a few additional sensors on this engine that an earlier engine might not have. Has anyone had any luck with any particular vendors? Thanks in advance for your help. Rob |
