New member! (yes there are pics)
Hey guys!
My dad posted a while back regarding an idle issue on our new 81 SC. Well, it was the CDI, and its back in business!!! He never got around to posting pics, so...here ya go!!!! Momo wheel, 930 rims....nothing really that stands out with regard to add ons and options. One interesting thing is that the first owner of the car was none other than the singer Christopher Cross. Pretty sweet ride for a 19 yr old, no? ![]() ![]()

Oh yeah, future plans include SSi's (but of course....), WEVO, 964 cams, 3.2l conv, PMOs, ignition kill switch, turbo tie rods.
Also, the shocks on this car are orange adjustable Koni's. I have no idea if they are factory or not BUT it has been parked next to other SC's and it has a much more aggressive stance. |

Hey congrats! I was about 19 when I got my Porsche....it was a '67 912, though.
Have fun and be safe with it.

Very nice. Who's the turkey sitting in the car with the big smile when you snapped the pics?
![]() Seriously, welcome and thanks for the follow-up on the CDI. It helps others when we post what was the answer as well as the problem.

Wow, awesome ride and very clean. Enjoy it.
![]() I have a set of excellent condition SSI exchangers I'm going to be taking off of my '79 3.0 SC tomorrow, which I was going to be putting up for sale. They are about $1200 new I believe and I'll probably ask $700 for these. Let me know if you are interested via PM or email and I'll send you some pics. Rob robrose426@att.net |

Damn dude when I was 19 I thought I was hot **** bc I drove a 91 GTI with about 120 hp (and that's AFTER the cam, exhaust etc).
Sweet ride. I wouldn't say it has no noteworthy options - those seats are the 81-84 style turbo/sport seats and are very desirable. Regarding the stance - the lowered/more aggressive stance is created simply by adjusting a few bolts! Up front, there is a bolt that goes through a little loop on the A arm and makes contact with the crossmember. Backing this bolt out lowers front ride height. On the 3 and 3.2 liter cars, the rear spring plates are adjustable to change the ride height, a lot easier than fiddling with the torsion bars (which is the way it is done -stock, anyway- on older models like mine) I think you will like the seat of the pants difference SSIs make. If I were you I'd drive the 3 liter til it's cooked and then think about building a short stroke 3.2. Or even better, just drive and maintain the 3 liter and if you really want to go faster...3.6 swap.
