Fan pulley nut is stuck on my '73 T, broke my fan pulley tool!

Hi there,

Someone over-torqued the nut that holds the fan belt pulley on. I used a block of wood to make sure the fan pulley tool was held still and to let me put more leverage on the 24mm ratchet. Result,: the of the prongs on the fan pulley tool sheared off...doh!

any ideas for removing an over-torqued fan pulley nut? Do I dare use a dremel tool to remove it?

Thanks

I believe that you can use an impact gun with an extension, and swivel socket . Will blast it right off.

Yep impact wrench. Just go to your local garage and pay a couple of dollars to zip it off and then tighten down to correct torque.

Sorry for the Bad luck. Hopefully it is just too tight.

Once you get the nut off, count the shims. You SHOULD have 6 total. If not, your shaft may be damaged as well.

When you reassemble, use NEW shims and consider a new cup washer as well. I suspect the old ones may be a bit distorted.
