1980 911SC coupe window wiring diagram needed

Hey all,

Would anyone here happen to have the wiring diagram for the power window circuit on an '80 SC coupe or at least verify what color wires attach to the various numbered terminals on the back of the switches in the driver's door and on the passenger's door?

Thanks in advance.

Aaron

You might find what you need in that thread.

Thanks for the link, Ray. Unfortunately there wasn't any window info in there.

Drivers Power Window Switch

Aaron,

I just did this a couple of days ago and I might be able to help you. Mine is also an 80 SC. First of all my switches are HOT all the time ..I didn't expext that and immediately blew a fuse.
MY drivers door switch has 5 terminals and unfortunately the terminals aren't numbered. I have 3 rows of terminals..a single on top...middle row 2 terminals slightly diagonal of each other...bottom row 2 terminals side by side. There is a good diagram in the Bentley's book on page 960-5. If you don't have the Bentley book I can scan the page for you...or once it gets daylight I can pull my switch out and take a pic of the backside for you.
There are also a couple good posts on here....search on power wondow switches...although on mine the wire colors didn't match.
Once you get this figured out I would like to know how the terminals are numbered for future reference.
Let me know how I can help you,

Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the info. I do have the Bentley manual but as it's for the Carrera, the wiring colors don't match as you said. If you'd be willing to take a pic of the wires I'd be forever grateful. You can also email me directly on QV5000@gmail.com

Cheers,
Aaron

Aaron,

I have a wiring diagram for '81SC USA which should be same or similar to what you need. Since I don't have a scanner at home, I'll just give you the wire color at each terminal (@1-2-3-4-5). Here they go:

Driverside power window SW @ DS:
1. Black
2. Green
3. Red
4. Brown
5. Red

Passengerside power window SW @ DS:
1. Red/white
2. Red/black
3. Red
4. Brown
5. Red

Passengerside power window SW @ PS
1. Black
2. Green
3. Red/white
4. Brown
5. Red/black

If you need a copy of the wiring diagram please send reply to atd911@hotmail.com and will forward a copy from the Porsche workshop manual. Keep us posted.

Tony
